This product (Z-BOX) has been designed to protect Stern drives of sport boats against damage and theft or loss. The casing consists of 2 halves, both foamed to fit the engine shaft and propeller. Both halves are connected together for easy usage.
The casing is produced from ABS material, moulded to fit the form of the drive. On the bottom side these halves are connected with high-grade steel and plastic hinges. On the top side of the casing, safety locks are provided to seal this shell by means of a key.
The inside foaming will be produced according to the Individual drive type (MerCruiser, Volvo, OMC, Yamaha etc.) The outside shell is universally usable.
At the time there is nothing comparable is found on
neither the German nor the world-wide market.
The Mesurements of the box are: ca. 125 cm long, 75 cm high und 55 cm beam. Weight will be at last by 8-9 kg.
ADVANTAGE 1:
Boat owners usually guard their drives using plastic bags or similar objects which are not really protecting anybody or anything. This so-called “protective measure” has become necessary because of federal laws so as not to harm walkers passing-by etc. However, the Z-Box is the first “real” protective device which meets federal regulations and is legally “sound” in case of any kind of accident.
ADVANTAGE 2:
of the Z-BOX exists in the road transport on a trailer. We invented a special part, for the fixing of the drive on the boat, so the drive can't move left or right, if the boat is going to start to swing. This part is an additional asset of security for you and your boat on the road.
ADVANTAGE 3:
Since propellers have become tremendously expensive in the past years, this invention brings along yet another advantage. The casing provides an antitheft protection since it is lockable. Thus theft will no longer be a potential problem. A high quality propeller (NIRO) amounts to anything between US- 1.000 to US-$ 2.000. In case somebody is trying to steal the propellers, the insurance will pay the Z-BOX and a new propeller because this is a legal offence.
ADVANTAGE 4:
Next point of benefit is the additional protection against accidental damage suffered by the propellers or even engine while moving the boat from the trailer to the water or ground.
ADVANTAGE 5:
Another fact is that owners who do not have inside-berthing during off-season, will not have to fear any damage to their drives and propellers due to critical weather conditions. The drives and propellers can stay fitted.
ADVANTAGE 6:
The casing (i.e. outer shell) provides fine advertising opportunities for dealers and manufacturers alike while boats are being moved on trailers to their destinations, sometimes long distance, and whilst the boats are out of water.
ADVANTAGE 7:
Through the special kind of manufacture, you can use the Z-BOX even under the water. This is very interesting for those boats which stay in water for weeks or even months. There are no longer seaweed or mussel sediments on your Z-drive, and you can start your engine immediately without the necessity to clean your drive first.
ADVANTAGE 8:
Should be tried to steal the boat from Marina and the engine can be started (short circuit o.ae.) The propeller does not produce a thrust by the closed z-box, i.e. the box must be removed before departure. Because the box is lockable, represents it for the thief an additional obstacle.
